The objective of the Beloit College Graphic Design Course (ART 325: Computer Art: Principles of Graphic Design) is to give students a hands-on introduction to the world of graphic design. Clients present the class with different assignments, and each student completes the research process, develops his or her own idea, and presents a final draft to the client. The client then returns to select the design that best adheres to his or her needs. Assignments for Spring 2003 included developing concepts from book covers to kids' club mascots. Not only did students learn about the basic tools and concepts of Graphic Design, but they also gained valuable insight into this field of business. This web site focuses on a package design assignment, where students created a variety of package designs for one or more of Prof. John Jungck's DNA knot models.
