Possible Audiences:

Undergraduate biology majors

Brief Overview:

We ask "Is there an E. coli - type iron permease gene (FepD) in Chromohalobacter sp. If so, is the perplasmic-facing residue sequence significantly different?

Project Materials:

Web resources: JGI, NCBI, Biology Workbench. Also, BioQUEST ESTEEM module on protein analysis

Resources and References:

(See references on slides.)

Future Directions:

1. What might account for our conclusions? 2.Would we get different results if we looked at differences between transmembrane pI and periplasmic pI, instead of just the periplasmic pI values?
